What you get

PM-JAY provides Rs 5 lakh annual health cover per family for secondary and tertiary hospitalisation. Benefits cover: 1,949 medical procedures including surgeries, medicine, diagnostics, ICU charges, and 3 days pre-hospitalisation and 15 days post-hospitalisation. Cashless treatment at over 25,000 empanelled hospitals (government and private) across India. No cap on family size. No exclusion for pre-existing conditions. Portable — use anywhere in India. Beneficiary identified by SECC (rural) and NSSO (urban) data — check by Aadhaar at any empanelled hospital.

Who can apply

Bottom 40% households based on Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC 2011) for rural and Occupational categories for urban. Rural criteria: households with scheduled caste/tribe, landless households dependent on manual casual labour, primitive tribal groups, legally released bonded labourers, households without shelter, and other SECC criteria. Verify eligibility at mera.pmjay.gov.in using Aadhaar or ration card.
