Ajmer Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Sarsi

Ajmer in the Ajmer district of Rajasthan is the headquarters of the Ajmer Milk Union popularly known as Saras, which is a significant producer cooperative supplying pasteurised milk, dahi yoghurt, ghee, and paneer to the Ajmer-Kishangarh-Pushkar urban market in a model following the AMUL cooperative dairy template. Ajmer Saras dairy processes milk from thousands of village cooperative member milk societies across Ajmer district including from Mina, Gujar, and Rajput pastoral communities. The Pushkar camel fair adjacent to Ajmer is simultaneously a livestock trading cooperative event where Rajasthani camel and horse traders from across Rajasthan exchange animals. Ajmer is also the centre of the Chishti Sufi lineage centred at the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, creating a massive pilgrimage economy that supports cooperative vendors, lodge keepers, and flower cooperative societies supplying chadar offerings at the dargah.
