Workers play significant role in driving wheels of country’s economy: Soren on May Day
Ranchi, May 1 (PTI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday greeted workers and said they play a significant role in driving the wheels of the country’s economy.
Soren said this while extending wishes to workers on International Labour Day observed on May 1.
The Day is being observed across Jharkhand, with various programmes organised by different labour unions.
“The tireless efforts and relentless struggles of workers play a crucial role in driving the wheels of the nation’s economy,” Soren said in a post on X.
“Our government always stands firmly by all these brothers and sisters,” he said.
Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar also expressed his best wishes to the labourers.
“Workers play a vital role in the progress of the nation and the state. Their hard work and dedication are the foundation of the nation’s prosperity. I wish all workers a bright future,” Gangwar posted on X.
Several labour unions observed the day by organising a number of programmes across Jharkhand mainly in Dhanbad, Jamshedpur and Ranchi.
In Jharkhand, as many as 96,61,245 unorganised workers have been registered with the state government’s e-Shram portal, according to the labour department data. PTI SAN NN
