Gorakhpur (UP), Apr 19 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday met people and listened to their grievances during a ‘Janta Darshan’ event in Gorakhnath, officials said.

Adityanath met nearly 300 people at the Mahant Digvijaynath Smriti Bhawan and instructed officials to resolve their issues, the Uttar Pradesh government said in a statement.

Emphasising his government’s zero-tolerance policy towards injustice, the chief minister instructed the officials to avoid unnecessary delays in resolving police and revenue-related matters.

Taking a serious note of the complaints of land encroachments, Adityanath ordered strict action against the land mafia and local bullies, the statement said.

He also issued directives on police-related matters, emphasising prompt FIR registration and strict adherence to legal procedures. For family disputes, he urged the officials to prioritise resolution through mutual dialogue.

Like in the previous Janata Darshan programmes, several people sought financial help from the government for the treatment of serious illnesses. Adityanath directed the concerned officials to make an estimate of the claims and send it to the government.

Before the event, the chief minister offered prayers at the Gorakhnath Temple, the statement said. PTI NAV ARI
