Two govt officials held in Chhattisgarh for bribery
Raipur, Apr 21 (PTI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Monday arrested two government officers in Chhattisgarh for allegedly demanding and accepting bribes in Raipur and Korba districts.
An official identified the two as Praveen Sahu and Sultan Singh Banjara.
“Sahu was posted as Assistant Engineer in Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited in Raipur city while Banjara was village revenue officer in Dullapur village in Korba district. Sahu sought Rs 25,000 from the complainant for providing him a commercial meter. Banjara demanded Rs 25,000 from the complainant for inclusion of his three acres land on his name in the revenue record book,” he said.
Both were caught in separate traps laid by the ACB, the official added.
They have been charged under Prevention of Corruption Act, he said. PTI COR BNM
