In a unanimous vote today, the Telangana Legislative Assembly has called on the Government of India to bestow the Bharat Ratna, then the highest civilian award in India, upon former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The suggestion was made by Chief Minister of Telangana, members from all parties within the assembly supported Chandrashekar Rao.
