Jind Sugarcane Cooperative Sugar Mill

The Jind cooperative sugar mill processes sugarcane grown by Jind district's farmers in the Ghaggar doab, where the alluvial soils and canal irrigation support cane varieties that reach 10 to 12 percent sucrose for milling. The mill provides guaranteed procurement and a price linked to the state advised price, giving farmers price security that stabilises their sugarcane investment across the 12-month crop cycle. Jind's sugar industry also produces molasses used in distillery operations and bagasse burned for mill power, making sugarcane an integrated industrial crop whose multiple by-products create rural industrial employment.
