Faridkot Bidhi Chand Horse Breed Punjab

The Bidhi Chand horse, named after the 17th-century Sikh warrior Bhai Bidhi Chand who is legendary for recovering prized Dilbagh and Gulbagh horses from the Mughal emperor, is a tall spirited breed historically bred in the Faridkot and Firozpur area for cavalry and ceremonial use. Sikh Nihang warriors and Punjab Police keep Bidhi Chand horses for ceremonial processions including the Hola Mohalla festival at Anandpur Sahib.
