What you get

Rooftop solar subsidy covering 40-60% of installation cost: Subsidy structure for residential households: - Up to 2kW system: Rs 30,000 per kW (60% subsidy) - 2-3kW system: Rs 18,000 per kW for capacity above 2kW (30%) - Maximum subsidy: Rs 78,000 (for 3kW system) - Above 3kW: No subsidy for additional capacity Expected monthly generation and savings: - 1kW system: 100-130 units/month → Rs 500-650 monthly savings - 2kW system: 200-260 units/month → Rs 1,000-1,300 savings - 3kW system: 300 free units per month → Zero electricity bill for average household - Surplus exported to grid: Earn additional income through net metering How to apply: 1. Visit pmsuryaghar.gov.in 2. Register with electricity bill consumer number 3. Get 3 quotes from registered installers (shown on portal) 4. Choose installer; apply for subsidy 5. DISCOM installs net meter; subsidy credited after inspection State-level additional subsidies available in many states.

Who can apply

All residential households across India. Own roof or terrace with unshaded area (minimum 10 sq ft per kW). Existing electricity connection from DISCOM. Apply online without any intermediary on pmsuryaghar.gov.in.
