On this occasion, Chief Minister Mohan Charn Majhi extended his greetings and stated that this is a day to pay tribute to the great individuals who sacrificed for the formation of Odisha.
The CM wrote on his X handle in Odia, “On the occasion of Odisha Day, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all. I pay my humble tribute to the great souls who made immense sacrifices for the creation of the separate Odisha state and for enhancing the glory of our language, literature, and culture. On this day, let us further strengthen our resolve to build a healthy and developed Odisha.”
Various Programs Organized Across the State
In celebration of this historic occasion, several programs are being organized across the state.
Earlier, the state’s Culture Minister, Suryavanshi Suraj, announced that for the first time, the ‘Odia Week’ will be celebrated with great enthusiasm from April 1 to April 14, coinciding with the Odia New Year. Various government departments will host activities from block-level to state-level, including cleanliness drives at historical sites, distribution of Odia language learning materials, blood donation camps, “Buy Odia Books” campaigns, folk art festivals, and Youth Writer’s Day.

In his message, PM Modi called for unity and collaboration among the people of Odisha, urging them to continue working towards building a progressive state and nation.
