Pochampally Ikat Cotton Yardage Fabric Telangana Nalgonda

While Pochampally sarees are well known, the less celebrated yardage (shirting and furnishing fabric) produced in Bhoodan Pochampally village in Nalgonda district represents a massive volume of ikat weaving for commercial fashion and home textile markets. Pochampally ikat uses resist-dyeing of warp and weft yarns before weaving to produce geometric and floral bleed patterns in both cotton and silk. Over 5000 looms operate in Bhoodan Pochampally alone.
