Bhiwani Khadi Cotton Weaving Cooperative

Bhiwani's KVIC handloom weaving cooperative produces khadi cotton fabric using handspun yarn from the district's spinning centres, with weavers using throw-shuttle pit looms to produce plain weave cotton for kurta-pajama fabric and village household use. The cooperative's artisans are primarily from SC and OBC weaver communities who receive raw material on credit and sell finished fabric through KVIC outlets in Chandigarh, Bhiwani, and Rohtak. Bhiwani's khadi programme has a direct link to the region's cotton agriculture, maintaining a short farm-to-fabric supply chain that is presented as a model of local economic circular value creation.
