Woman held for severing father-in-law's penis over sexual harassment in Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar, Jul 17 (PTI) A 28-year-old woman allegedly severed her father-in-law's penis with a blade after accusing him of repeatedly sexually harassing her in Muzaffarnagar district on Friday, police said. The 60-year-old injured man was rushed to a hospital and later referred to a higher medical centre in Budhana town of the district due to the severity of his injuries in the afternoon, Circle Officer Gajendra Pal Singh said. The woman has been taken into custody and is being questioned, while police are investigating the circumstances leading to the incident, he said. According to police, the woman alleged that her father-in-law had been sexually harassing her in the absence of her husband, who works outside the district. Police said the woman has been married for the past seven years, and the couple has two children, aged around five and six years. Further legal action will be taken on the basis of the investigation, the officer said. PTI COR KIS PRK
