Why would DMK buy single legislator from TVK, asks DMK leader

Chennai, Jul 6 (PTI) Senior DMK leader T K S Elangovan on Monday dismissed allegations of his party attempting to poach a TVK MLA, labelling the case as entirely fraudulent and a planned attempt to defame the DMK. "They say that DMK tried to purchase a TVK MLA, which is absolutely foolish because DMK is not going to benefit by purchasing a single MLA. What is the purpose for the DMK to purchase an MLA?" Elangovan asked while interacting with PTI Videos. According to him, it was TVK that needed to prove numbers and hence had a compelling motivation. "It was the TVK that lacked a majority, having secured only 107 seats, and required additional support, which drove their own involvement in horse-trading," he alleged.
