Lucknow, Jul 15 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday appreciated the Union cabinet for approving the Ganga and Varuna elevated corridor projects at an estimated cost of approximately Rs 25,446 crore, an official statement issued here said.
In a post on X, Chief Minister Adityanath expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for all the visionary initiatives, including the Union cabinet's approval of the Ganga (6-lane Greenfield) and Varuna (6/4-lane) elevated corridor projects at an estimated cost of approximately Rs 25,446 crore.
Adityanath wrote on X, "Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, the Union Cabinet has approved the Mobile Phone Manufacturing Scheme (MPMS) with a budget allocation of Rs 62,500 crore for the period from the financial year 2026-27 to the financial year 2030-31.
"This scheme will increase domestic value addition, strengthen India's electronics manufacturing ecosystem, create 60,000 direct jobs and promote total mobile phone production worth approximately Rs 39 lakh crore, thereby making India even stronger as a global manufacturing hub." The chief minister further said that since UP is already emerging as a major hub for electronics and mobile manufacturing, this initiative will further accelerate investment, employment and industrial development in the state.
He also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for this "visionary initiative".
The chief minister said, "Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has approved 'Semicon 2.0' with a total budget of Rs 1,27,500 crore. This has further strengthened India's long-term commitment to building a world-class semiconductor ecosystem.
"With a special focus on chip design, advanced manufacturing, R&D, talent development and semiconductor infrastructure, this initiative will accelerate technological innovation, strengthen the supply chain and establish India as a global powerhouse in semiconductor design and manufacturing." He said this "historic" decision will further strengthen the vision of 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' and 'Viksit Bharat'.
Adityanath expressed gratitude to the prime minister for this "transformative" initiative that will shape India's technological future.
He wrote, "Under the successful leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet's approval of the 'National Investment Policy for Urea-2026 (NIPU-2026) for Aatmanirbhar Bharat' is an extremely historic and visionary decision that will strengthen the country's agriculture sector." This ambitious policy, which will fulfil the resolve of prosperity for the nation's "annadata" (farmers) and self-reliant agriculture, will promote the establishment of gas-based urea plants and encourage new investments in the country.
Along with infusing new energy into the urea sector, this policy will achieve the goal of complete self-reliance in fertiliser production, he said. PTI ABN KSS KSS
