UP: Teen jumps from moving truck after gang-rape by uncle, driver; both arrested

Kanpur (UP), Jul 17 (PTI) A 15-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped in a truck by her uncle and the truck driver, who have been arrested, police said on Friday. After the alleged assault, the girl jumped from the moving truck near the Aliyapur toll plaza on the Kanpur-Sagar highway in Sajeti and somehow managed to reach home, where she narrated her ordeal to her family members. According to police, the accused duo, who regularly watched pornographic content on their mobile phones, was produced before a court on Friday which remanded them to judicial custody. During interrogation, the accused admitted that they were under the influence of alcohol when they took the girl with them and gang-raped her, ACP (Ghatampur) Krishnakant Yadav said. Additional DCP (South) Sumit Sudhakar Ramteke said the girl was lured into the truck by her uncle and after the crime, she jumped from the moving vehicle near the Aliyapur toll plaza. After she narrated her ordeal to her family members, her father lodged a complaint with Sajeti police on Thursday, alleging that his brother-in-law lured his teenage daughter into the truck where he and the truck driver sexually assaulted her. The accused have been booked under the relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), police said. PTI COR KIS ARI
