Unnao (UP), Jul 11 (PTI) Three passengers were killed and a conductor critically injured after being hit by a roadways bus as they stepped out of it following a collision with a truck on the Kanpur-Lucknow National Highway early Saturday, police said. According to police, the incident took place around 2 am on the Kanpur-Lucknow National Highway under the Dahi police station limits in Unnao district. SHO Gyanendra Singh said the bus rammed into a truck moving ahead of it after which the conductor and some passengers stepped down to assess the damage. According to preliminary investigation, the bus driver allegedly moved the vehicle forward, unaware of the passengers and the conductor standing in its way. Three passengers died in the collision, while the conductor – Indrapal Singh (48) – was admitted to a hospital in a critical condition, the SHO said. One of the deceased has been identified as Ramnaresh (40), who was travelling with his wife to attend his father-in-law's funeral in Kanpur. The second deceased has been identified as Rajendra (40), a resident of Basti district, and efforts are underway to identify the third, the officer said. PTI COR NAV ARI ARI
