Nagpur, Jul 18 (PTI) Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, along with party MPs, MLAs and workers, offered prayers and performed aarti at a Ram temple in Nagpur on Saturday, ahead of his ‘Ram Raksha Andolan’ against the alleged embezzlement of donations at the Ayodhya Ram temple.
Uddhav Thackeray was joined by Aaditya Thackeray, Sanjay Raut, party legislators, leaders and workers during the prayers and aarti at the Ram temple in the city’s Ram Nagar area.
Following the prayers, he addressed a gathering outside the temple as part of his party’s Ram Raksha agitation.
The alleged embezzlement of Ram temple donations came to light last month, following which the Uttar Pradesh government constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) on June 13 to probe the allegations.
Following the submission of the preliminary SIT report on June 23, an FIR was registered on June 25 and eight accused were arrested. PTI CLS VT NR
