New Delhi, Jul 11 (PTI) Railway passengers from North and West Delhi are set to get major relief after the Railways approved the stoppage of two important trains at Adarsh Nagar railway station, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Saturday. The chief minister said the Adarsh Nagar railway station will now serve as a stoppage for two major routes. In a letter to the chief minister, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the approval has been granted following Gupta's request for the stoppage of train number 14331 Delhi-Kalka Express and train number 14053 Delhi-Daulatpur Chowk Himachal Express at Adarsh Nagar with immediate effect. "The Delhi government is giving the highest priority to citizens' daily needs and convenience. This decision will save time for residents of North and West Delhi and spare them the additional effort of travelling to New Delhi or Old Delhi railway stations," Gupta said. The chief minister said the stoppage of the Delhi-Kalka Express at Adarsh Nagar will directly benefit passengers travelling to Kurukshetra, Chandigarh and Kalka. "It will also be highly useful for tourists heading to various destinations in Himachal Pradesh. Similarly, the halt of the Delhi-Daulatpur Chowk Himachal Express will provide significant relief to passengers and devotees travelling to Kurukshetra, Fatehgarh Sahib, Anandpur Sahib and different parts of Himachal Pradesh," Gupta said in a statement. The chief minister said the Delhi government is working in close coordination with the Central Government on every issue related to public welfare to provide better facilities to citizens.
