Two persons with suspected connections to narcotic network arrested

Kannur, Jul 10 (PTI) Two persons suspected to have connections with a narcotics supply network in Kannur district have been arrested, police officials said on Friday. Earlier, they were arrested after they were found in possession of MDMA. The accused were identified as P Sunesh (29), a resident of Pariyaram, and N Nisar (40) of Mattool North. According to police, Sunesh runs a readymade garment shop near the Taliparamba bus stand, while Nisar owns a grocery shop on Beach Road at Puthiyangadi. The arrests were made based on information obtained during the custodial interrogation of two accused who were remanded in a case involving the seizure of 4.6 grams of MDMA from Mattool North on June 6, police said. Police said Nisar was also an accused in a 2021 case involving the seizure of 3.1 grams of cannabis at Mattool. Further investigation is underway to trace the wider drug supply network, police added.
