Two minor sisters killed, woman injured as wall collapses in Chhattisgarh’s Bemetara

Bemetara (Chhattisgarh), Jun 28 (PTI) Two minor sisters were killed and a 30-year-old woman sustained serious injuries after a wall of their house collapsed in Chhattisgarh’s Bemetara district on Sunday, police said. The incident occurred in the morning at Raurpur village within the jurisdiction of the Bemetara police station, an official said. The deceased were identified as Vanshika Kosale (10) and her younger sister Radhika (8), he said. As per preliminary information, Shashikala Khandelwal (30) was washing utensils inside the house while the two girls had gone to wash their hands after breakfast when the wall collapsed. All three were trapped under the debris, the official said. The two sisters died at the spot before they could be rescued, he said. Villagers pulled Khandelwal out from under the debris and rushed her to the district hospital. Later, she was referred to a hospital in Raipur, he said. Police have registered a case of accidental death and a probe is underway, he added. PTI COR TKP NR
