Two held for firing at man over money dispute in northeast Delhi

New Delhi, Jul 18 (PTI) Two men were arrested for allegedly opening fire at a man during a dispute over money in northeast Delhi's Dayalpur, an officer said on Saturday. The accused, Mayank Sharma (22) and Deepanshu Sharma alias Bhura (23), allegedly fired at Nikhil, a resident of Ghaziabad, when he had gone to Deepanshu's office in Nehru Vihar on July 16 to settle a monetary dispute, police said. According to police, Mayank allegedly fired from the first floor of the building. The bullet struck the road before ricocheting and injuring the victim. Investigators said the accused tried to mislead the probe by making a PCR call and creating a false counter version of the incident. However, sustained technical surveillance and field investigation helped police trace the injured man, reconstruct the sequence of events and arrest both accused. A pistol allegedly used in the offence and two live cartridges were recovered from their possession. Further investigation is underway, police said. PTI BM MDO MDO
