Two boys injured as second-floor window grill crashes in Thane

Thane, Jul 13 (PTI) Two minor boys were injured in Maharashtra's Thane district after a window grill at a second-floor house in a building collapsed, causing them to fall, officials said on Monday. The incident occurred near a mosque on Dargah Road in Bhiwandi town on Sunday afternoon. The two boys, aged 8 and 10, had come to visit their relatives and were sitting on the window grill of the second-floor flat in a four-storey residential building when it suddenly collapsed, an official of the Bhiwandi Nizampur Municipal Corporation said. The duo fell to the ground and sustained injuries. They were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are undergoing treatment, he said. The building was not included in the civic body's list of dangerous structures. The exact cause of the grill collapse was under investigation, the official added. PTI COR GK
