TN Minister Nirmal Kumar presents gold rings to newborns

Madurai, Jul 12 (PTI) TVK leader and Tamil Nadu Minister for Energy Resources, R Nirmal kumar presented gold rings to babies here on Sunday. Party sources said that Nirmal Kumar, who also holds the and law portfolio, gifted the gold rings in "continuation of the celebration of TVK founder, Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay's birthday," which fell on June 22. Vijay days ago announced that the gold ring scheme for newborns (Thaimaman Thanga Mothiram Thittam, TVK's 2026 TN Assembly election promise) will be launched on the birth anniversary of Dravidian icon CN Annadurai in September. The total number of persons to whom Kumar gifted the gold rings is not known immediately. Besides the gold rings, baby hampers were gifted to the mothers. PTI VGN VGN ROH
