Three-year-old girl killed after parked vehicle runs over her in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 5 (PTI) A three-year-old girl was killed after a parked tempo traveller allegedly rolled forward and ran over her during a family outing at Amburi here on Sunday, police said. The deceased was identified as Rigveda, a native of Kottampally near Kattakada. According to police, a group of families had reached Amburi for a leisure trip and had parked the vehicle near a bridge before getting out. Preliminary findings suggest the vehicle moved forward after its handbrake was accidentally released and ran over the child, who was standing nearby, they said. The girl suffered grievous injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead, police added. PTI LGK SSK
