Jamshedpur, Jul 12 (PTI) Three persons have been arrested for allegedly smuggling gems worth Rs 1.5 crore from Jharkhand's East Singhbhum district, police said on Sunday.
Acting on a tip-off, Vinay Patar (50), Sideshwar Kalindi (45), and Snehashish Mangraj (44) were arrested on Saturday from a bus stand in Baharagora, about 90 kms from Jamshedpur, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Subham Kumar Khandelwal said.
The trio attempted to flee upon seeing the police personnel, but were nabbed, he said, adding that pieces of emerald worth around Rs 1.5 crore were seized from them. PTI BS NSD
