PTI1 min read
Noida, Jul 8 (PTI) Three schoolchildren sustained minor injuries after a woman allegedly lost control of her car while dropping her children off at school outside a residential society in Greater Noida on Wednesday morning, police said.
The incident took place outside Panchsheel Greens under the Bisrakh police station area.
Police stated that the woman was driving out of the society when she accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake.
"The car collided with a parked scooter on the service lane. The impact caused the scooter to fall onto two to three children waiting nearby for their school transport, resulting in minor injuries," a police spokesperson said.
The injured children were taken to a hospital for first aid and are stated to be out of danger, police said.
Police have impounded the car and initiated legal proceedings.
Some residents, however, claimed that the woman was talking on her mobile phone while driving, suggesting that distracted driving may have contributed to the accident.
Police said the allegations are being looked into as part of the investigation. PTI COR KIS MPL MPL
