Three minors booked for attempting to steal copper wire; case against two for thrashing them

Latur, Jul 11 (PTI) Three minors have been booked for allegedly attempting to steal copper wire from an agricultural filed in Renapur in Latur, while two persons have been booked for thrashing them, a police official said on Saturday. The incidents took place in Kharola village, he said. He identified the two persons booked for assaulting the three juveniles as Sachin Narayan Rautrao (40) and Nitin Govind Shinde (38). The police said no one has the right to take law into their own hands. The case was registered on the complaint of one of the juveniles, he said, adding that a police team had visited the village to ensure there is no flare-up due to these incidents. "Some videos related to the incident were circulated on social media platforms and a technical investigation into the matter is underway. Those found spreading rumours, misleading information or content aimed at creating social tension will face action," the official warned. PTI COR BNM
