Thane, Jul 13 (PTI) A 17-year-old boy was brutally stabbed and injured by two teenagers in Thane after he allegedly teased one of his friends over his defeat in a multiplayer mobile phone game, police said on Monday. Police have registered an FIR against three accused, including two brothers, under sections 109 (Attempt to murder), 3(5)(Common intention) and 352 (intentional insults meant to provoke a breach of the public peace) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). Nobody has been arrested yet, an official said. According to police, the victim regularly played the multiplayer mobile game PUBG with a group of friends from his neighbourhood. The group frequently engaged in friendly but persistent teasing directed at whoever lost a match. The dispute began on July 10 when the group was playing the game at a local park. One of the minor boys lost a match and became heavily agitated after being mocked by his peers, police said. In a fit of rage, the boy brought a knife to threaten the victim. However, timely intervention by family members defused the situation, and the boy was taken home, according to police. However, the resentment escalated on the night of July 12 when the suspect and two other minor accomplices confronted the victim. Two of the minors suddenly pulled out knives and stabbed the 17-year-old, leaving him seriously injured. The severely bleeding teenager attempted to make his way back home, after which local residents and relatives rushed him to a nearby hospital. He is currently undergoing treatment. PTI COR NSK
