Sweets shop worker dies in lift malfunction in Haryana's Hisar

Hisar, Jul 12 (PTI) A 34-year-old sweets shop worker died Sunday at his workplace when his neck got caught between the doors of a lift, police said. The incident happened in the busy commercial area of Nagori Gate here. Police identified the deceased as Jasbir of Kumbha Khera (Hisar) village. Jasbir had slept inside the shop the previous night, they said. In the morning, he was asked to go upstairs. He took the lift and had an accident on the second floor. Jasbir's father, Ram Mehar, alleged foul play and demanded an investigation into the death. The police are investigating the safety measures in place for the lift and whether the accident was caused by a technical malfunction, negligence or a conspiracy. The body was sent for a post-mortem.
