Panaji, July 14 (PTI) Goa BJP president Damodar Naik on Tuesday termed the ongoing protest at Jantar Manar in New Delhi against a mega housing project in Karapur-Sarvan village as "politically motivated", alleging that protesters want to set a narrative against Goa and tarnish the state's image. After staging protests for more than 90 days, the agitation has been held at Jantar Mantar for two days. The proposed project in Karapur-Sarvan village is a massive luxury real estate development. Residents allege that the project is proceeding without mandatory environmental and coastal zone clearances. "The protest is politically motivated. The Pramod Sawant-led government is doing everything possible to mitigate the grievances of the villagers. "The project is being opposed for the sake of opposition. The image of Goa is being tarnished with such protests in the national capital. They want to set a narrative against Goa," he told reporters. Several political parties, including the Congress and AAP, have extended their support to the protest. AAP leader Atishi Marlena participated in the demonstration on Monday. PTI RPS NSK
