Janjgir (Chhattisgarh), Jun 28 (PTI) Three men were killed after a speeding vehicle mowed them down while they were out on a morning walk in Chhattisgarh's Janjgir-Champa district in the early hours of Sunday, police said. The accident occurred between 4 am and 5 am on the Bharatmala Road passing through Dongri-Korbi village under the Balod police station limits, an official said. He said that the victims, Dilharan Das Vaishnav (62), Kedar Baret (52) and Santu Yadav (70), all residents of Dongri-Korbi village, had left their homes for their daily morning walk about 2 km away, when an unidentified vehicle hit them. The official said that the impact threw the bodies at different spots on the road. Villagers rushed to the scene and alerted the police. Vaishnav was a retired branch manager of a cooperative society, while Baret and Yadav were farmers. The three had been close friends for many years and routinely went on morning walks together, the official said.
