Senior IPS officer Amit Garg appointed NCRB chief, Alok Mittal to head BPR&D

New Delhi, Jul 6 (PTI) Senior IPS officers Amit Garg and Alok Kumar Mittal were on Monday appointed chiefs of the National Crime Record Bureau and the Bureau of Police Research and Development, respectively, officials said. Garg, a 1993-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre, is presently working as the Director of the Hyderabad-based Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved Garg's appointment as Director, National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) from the date of joining the post and till the date of his superannuation, i.e., October 31, 2027, an official order said. Garg’s batchmate from the Haryana cadre, Mittal, has been appointed Director General, Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), from the date of joining the post and up to June 30, 2029, the date of his superannuation, it said. Sujeet Pandey, a 1994-batch IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, will be the new Director of SVPNPA up to July 31, 2028, the date of his superannuation, the order said. PTI AKV ARI
