Rs 1,432 crore disbursed to 12,908 entrepreneurs in Vadodara ahead of regional conference

Vadodara, Jun 25 (PTI) Ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) for the central part of the state, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi has disbursed financial assistance of Rs 1,432.41 crore to 12,908 entrepreneurs in Vadodara, officials said on Thursday. The VGRC for Central Gujarat is scheduled to be held on June 29-30 at GSFC University in Vadodara. "Ahead of the VGRC for Central Gujarat, scheduled to be held in Vadodara, Deputy Chief Minister Sanghavi has disbursed financial assistance of Rs. 1,432.41 crore to a total of 12,908 entrepreneurs, including 9,171 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs)," an official release stated. Inviting entrepreneurs to participate in the upcoming conference, the Deputy Chief Minister, who handles the industries portfolio, said such regional investor meets have already been held in Mehsana, Rajkot, and Surat. He added that before each conference, the state government distributes financial assistance to eligible beneficiaries. "Earlier, assistance of Rs 905 crore was distributed in Mehsana, Rs 956 crore in Rajkot, and Rs 1,344 crore in Surat (to entrepreneurs ahead of regional conferences in these cities). The distribution of Rs 1,432 crore in Vadodara, the highest among these regions, reflects the district's strong industrial development," Sanghavi said. Addressing a meeting with representatives of various industrial associations regarding the fourth edition of the VGRC in Vadodara, Sanghavi noted the new industrial policy introduced by the Gujarat government has made the state an attractive destination among domestic as well as foreign investors. During the meeting, Sanghavi distributed benefits under various schemes, including Rs. 402.58 crore to 9,171 beneficiaries under the MSME Department, Rs. 471.62 crore to 3,490 beneficiaries under the textile scheme, Rs 523.15 crore to 213 beneficiaries under the large industries category, and Rs 35.06 crore to 34 beneficiaries under various other schemes.
