Patna, Jul 9 (PTI) RJD president Lalu Prasad’s daughter Rohini Acharya, who has a running feud with her father's heir apparent Tejashwi Yadav, on Thursday fulminated against suspension of a party worker in Bihar's Saran district, from where she had contested the last Lok Sabha polls. In a post on X, Singapore-based Acharya took up the cudgels for Hare Lal Yadav, RJD's spokesman in Saran who has been suspended for indiscipline, claiming that he was punished for speaking out against "those who work for the opponents while remaining in the party". Acharya refrained from mentioning by name her younger brother, who is now the RJD's working president, but called out his close aides like Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Yadav, MLC Sunil Kumar Singh and personal friend Rameez for allegedly targeting committed party workers. Terming the action against Hare Lal Yadav “unfortunate", she claimed that in Saran, once a pocket borough of her father which she failed to wrest from BJP's Rajiv Pratap Rudy in 2024, "the entire district unit has been captured by those who appear to be in RJD but work for our opponents. They indulge in anti-party activities during elections". "In Saran, every RJD legislator and office bearer seems totally inactive and those who work on the ground end up being targeted," alleged Acharya, who has been going public with her grievances since last year's assembly polls in which the party was drubbed. Acharya, who had asserted that she was "quitting politics and disowning my family" following vile abuses heaped on her by Tejashwi Yadav and his cohorts upon her insistence that accountability be fixed for the poll debacle, said, "I continue to be in the party. If speaking out against Sanjay Yadav and his ilk invites action, let there be action against me". "I am a daughter of Lalu ji. I will never surrender in the face of wrongdoing. I shall continue to raise my voice against Sanjay Yadav, Sunil Kumar Singh and Rameez. And those who in support me will continue to do so even if they get expelled," she added. PTI PKD NAC RBT
