Rajasthan will host 'Videsh Sampark-State Outreach Conference'

Jaipur, Jul 8 (PTI) Rajasthan will host the "Videsh Sampark-State Outreach Conference" for the first time on July 16 to create awareness about safe and legal migration, prevent illegal immigration and educate people about consular and passport-related services, officials said on Wednesday. Chief Secretary V Srinivas reviewed preparations for the event to be organised at the Rajasthan International Centre, jointly hosted by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Rajasthan government. According to an official statement, he directed all concerned departments to coordinate to ensure the event's smooth conduct. Officials said the conference aims to raise awareness among stakeholders about safe and legal migration, educate people on ways to avoid fraudulent agents and illegal migration practices, and disseminate information about the Ministry of External Affairs' initiatives related to consular services, passports, visas, and overseas Indians. They said discussions will also focus on the welfare of Indian citizens and workers employed abroad, besides the Rajasthan government's initiatives for the diaspora, investment opportunities, industry, skill development, tourism promotion and strengthening engagement with the global Rajasthani community. Senior officials from various state government departments, police, the Regional Passport Office and other agencies attended the review meeting, while district collectors from several districts joined via video conference.
