Jaipur, Jul 6 (PTI) Announcing that Rajasthan's four major parks will be named after nationalist thinker and educationist Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Monday said the initiative aims to acquaint future generations with his ideals.
The announcement came on Mookerjee's 125th birth anniversary, during a programme held at his residence, where the chief minister paid floral tributes to him.
Sharma said Mookerjee's entire life was devoted to the ideals of "nation first", unity, integrity and public service.
According to officials, the chief minister also announced that memorials dedicated to Mookerjee's ideals and contributions to the nation will be established at all four locations.
The parks to be renamed include Woodland Park in Jaipur, Central Park in Jodhpur's Vivek Vihar, a park in Kota's Ramchandrapura Atwal Nagar, and a park in Udaipur's Sector-12 scheme area.
He said Mookerjee's thoughts, sacrifice and patriotism continue to inspire generations, and the initiative aims to acquaint future generations with his ideals. PTI AG SHS SHS
