Rajasthan CM launches campaign against cybercrime, says financial security top priority

Jaipur, Jul 20 (PTI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Monday launched a statewide cyber security campaign, saying the financial and social security of the people of the state is the top priority. Releasing the 'Cyber Security Campaign' poster, Sharma said the state government is taking strong action against cyber criminals and strengthening systems to protect citizens. "In the digital era, technology has made life easier, but it has also brought challenges like cybercrime. The state government is working strictly against cyber criminals, and our top priority is the financial and social security of the people," he said. He said efforts are being made to identify, arrest and dismantle networks of cyber criminals across the state through a coordinated campaign. Highlighting initiatives, the chief minister said, "Through innovations, we are tightening the grip on cyber criminals. Platforms like the Rajasthan Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (R4C), helpline 1930 and campaigns like Operation Antivirus are helping provide quick assistance to victims." He also urged people to remain alert. "Do not click on suspicious links or share OTPs, bank details or passwords. If anyone becomes a victim of cyber fraud, they should immediately contact helpline 1930 or report on the national cyber crime portal," he said. He also reviewed key government schemes, directing strict action against corruption and extending the deadline for rural and urban service camps till August 31. Later, chairing the seventh meeting of 'Raj Unnati' at the Chief Minister's Office, Sharma reviewed the progress of various schemes and projects and stressed a zero-tolerance policy towards negligence and corruption. "Laxity, irregularities and corruption will not be tolerated at any cost. Strict action will be taken against officials found guilty," he said, adding that all projects must be completed on time to ensure timely benefits to the public. The chief minister also directed disciplinary action against officials found negligent in implementing schemes. During the meeting, Sharma decided to extend the ongoing rural and urban service camps till August 31, citing their popularity and impact. "All pending works should be cleared at the earliest, and reasons must be given if any work is not completed. Departments should ensure timely delivery of services through better coordination," he said. He also asked officials to prioritise the resolution of disputes related to land, roads and encroachments. Sharma directed that details of beneficiaries at the camps be recorded along with their feedback to further improve the system. Officials said more than 19,000 camps have been organised across the state since June 12, delivering various services and resolving long-pending cases. The chief minister said inputs from field officers should also be taken to make the process more efficient and citizen-friendly. PTI AG APL APL
