Rajasthan chief secretary reviews Jal Jeevan Mission projects

Jaipur, Jul 9 (PTI) Rajasthan Chief Secretary V Srinivas on Thursday reviewed the progress of projects being implemented under Jal Jeevan Mission and directed officials to complete all works within the stipulated timelines. Chairing a review meeting here, Srinivas stressed the need to ensure quality, transparency and timely execution of the mission's projects. The chief secretary directed officials to ensure the early financial closure of projects that have already been completed physically and to update their progress on the mission portal without delay, according to a release. The status of approved schemes, issuance of work orders, pending tenders, financial expenditure and the overall progress of projects under the mission were reviewed in the meeting. Srinivas instructed officials to identify and resolve bottlenecks affecting the projects on a priority basis to expedite their implementation. He also called for regular district-level reviews of the mission, water quality testing at the village level, Har Ghar Jal certification, effective operation of water supply schemes and stronger community participation.
