Punjab govt ensuring welfare of freedom fighters: Minister Bhagat

Chandigarh, Jul 5 (PTI) Punjab Freedom Fighters' Welfare, Defence Services Welfare and Horticulture Minister Mohinder Bhagat said on Sunday that the state government is making every possible effort to ensure the welfare and dignity of freedom fighters and their families.
Bhagat said the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to safeguarding the interests of freedom fighters and addressing their needs.
He said the contributions and sacrifices of freedom fighters in securing the country's independence deserve the highest respect and honour.
The minister said the Punjab government provides a monthly pension of Rs 11,000 to freedom fighters, their widows, unmarried and unemployed daughters, and unemployed sons to help them lead a life of dignity.
Bhagat said the government is implementing people-centric welfare policies for all sections of society and is committed to extending every possible assistance to the families of freedom fighters.
He reiterated that the state government's priority remains honouring freedom fighters and supporting their families. PTI VSD ASD ASD ASD
