Sangrur, Jul 7 (PTI) Two youths were killed in a clash that allegedly occurred between two rival groups in broad daylight in Punjab's Dhuri town of Sangrur district on Tuesday, police said.
The deceased were identified as Anil Kumar and Dev Kumar, both residents of Dhuri.
According to police, an argument between members of the two groups escalated into a violent confrontation at Kakkarwal Chowk in the afternoon, resulting in serious injuries to the two youths.
They were rushed to the Civil Hospital in Dhuri, where doctors declared them brought dead, officials said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Gurpreet Singh stated that a large search operation has been initiated to locate the suspects, and investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify those involved in the attack.
The officer mentioned that some suspects have already been identified through the CCTV footage, and efforts are underway to apprehend them as soon as possible.
A case has been registered and relevant sections of law, including those related to murder, will be added after the post-mortem and medical reports are received, the DSP added. PTI VSD MPL MPL
