Puducherry: AIADMK MLA Anbalagan appointed as pro-tem Speaker

Puducherry, May 15 (PTI) Lieutenant Governor K Kailashnathan on Friday appointed AIADMK legislator A Anbalagan as pro-tem Speaker of the 16th Legislative Assembly of Puducherry. Chief Minister N Rangasamy had recommended the name of Anbalagan for the post, a release from the Assembly Secretariat said. AIADMK is an ally of AINRC. AINRC founder N Rangasamy on Wednesday took oath as the Chief Minister of Puducherry for the fifth time. Two other cabinet members--Malladi Krishna Rao from the regional party and A Namassivayam of the BJP, also took oath as ministers in the AINRC-led NDA government.
