Mumbai, Jul 17 (PTI) Maharashtra Fisheries Minister Nitesh Rane on Friday directed his department officials to prepare an action plan for effective implementation of the 'Chief Minister Matsya Sampada Yojana' and to improve the outreach of the scheme. The 'Mukhyamantri Matsya Sampada Yojana', which is aimed at the holistic development of the fisheries sector, was introduced in 2025. Chairing a state-level review meeting here, Rane said the scheme has received a positive response from the fishing community and stressed the need to expand its reach through systematic implementation. He instructed regional deputy commissioners and assistant commissioners of the fisheries department to organise special camps every week at the taluka level to create awareness about various government schemes and help increase the number of beneficiaries. The minister also asked officials to hold regular divisional review meetings to monitor progress and prepare action plans for improving the scheme's outreach. He directed officials to expedite the establishment of training centres at Vasai in the Mumbai division and Gadchiroli in the Nagpur division. The minister reviewed the implementation of the super-intensive brackish water shrimp farming project under the scheme. Rane said standard operating procedures (SOPs) and model detailed project reports (DPRs) have already been circulated to the concerned departments and directed officials to process the proposals received under the project without delay.
