PM Modi holds grand roadshow in Daman

Daman, Jun 5 (PTI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held a grand roadshow in Daman, drawing huge crowds ahead of his public address and the launch of major development projects in the Union Territory. Modi arrived in Daman around 7 pm and embarked on a roadshow from the Night Market to the Swami Vivekananda Sports Complex, where he later addressed a public gathering. Thousands of people lined up on both sides of the route to welcome him, waving saffron party flags and the Tricolour. Supporters raised slogans of "Modi Modi" and carried placards bearing messages such as "Modi Hai To Mumkin Hai" and "We Love You Modiji". The entire stretch of the roadshow route was illuminated with decorative lighting, while cultural performances added colour and vibrancy to the event. Following the roadshow, Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated various development projects costing Rs 2,970 crore for Daman and Diu. The projects Modi dedicated span healthcare, civil aviation, tourism, infrastructure, connectivity and public welfare sectors, including a new terminal building of NAMO Airport, the NAMO Hospital, an iconic bridge, the Daman convention centre and the NIFT campus at Daman. Modi also laid the foundation stone of important projects costing Rs 885 crore for the Union Territory of Lakshadweep.
