Jaipur, Jul 6 (PTI) Rajasthan Police's Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has seized more than 47 kg of 'ganja' (cannabis) and arrested two alleged traffickers in Sawai Madhopur district, officials said on Sunday.
The contraband, weighing 47.29 kg, is estimated to be worth around Rs 25 lakh in the illicit market, police said, adding that a car allegedly used in the smuggling operation has also been seized.
Inspector General of Police Vikas Kumar said the accused have been identified as Mukut Bihari (36) and Hanuman (30), both residents of Fariya village under Khandar police station limits in Sawai Madhopur.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused had been involved in large-scale trafficking of ganja for the past six to seven years, sourcing consignments from Odisha and supplying them in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
Police said the accused were arrested for the first time despite being active in the illegal trade for several years. PTI AG ARB ARB
