Guna, Jul 16 (PTI) One person was killed and seven others injured after a truck went out of control and collided with several vehicles in Raghogarh area of Madhya Pradesh's Guna district on Thursday morning, a police official said.
The accident occurred near SADA (Special Area Development Authority) Colony bridge when a truck with a Rajasthan registration number first collided with a tractor and then went ahead and hit other vehicles, including a Bolero, Raghogarh police station in charge Ajay Jat said.
"The Bolero was carrying labourers traveling to Baran district in Rajasthan. Pehlwan Saharia (27), a resident of Ishatoda, died on the spot. Ajay, Arvind, Kalla, Rohit, Idrish, Vishal, and Bolero driver Mithun Saharia were injured in the accident," he said.
Two of the injured were referred to the district hospital in critical condition, while the others are being treated at a facility in Raghogarh, he added.
"The truck driver fled with the vehicle after the accident. However, the truck was seized later and efforts are on to nab the driver, who has been booked under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on the complaint of Mithun Saharia and Narayan Saharia," Jat said.
Preliminary investigations have revealed the truck, which was coming from Dharnawada, was being driven at high speed and in a negligent manner, the official said, adding a detailed investigation into the cause of the accident is underway. PTI COR MAS BNM
