Bengaluru, Jul 13 (PTI) A newly-wed woman allegedly died by suicide at her residence here following which the police have detained her husband and sister-in-law, police said.
According to Bengaluru West Deputy Commissioner of Police Yathish N, a 21-year-old woman, who had married just three months ago, was found hanging in her house near Sunkadakatte under the jurisdiction of the Kamakshipalya Police Station.
After a minor quarrel with her husband on Sunday, the woman left the house. She returned home in the afternoon when her husband was not present. After returning, she sent a message to her mother and then allegedly died by hanging, Yathish told reporters here.
The deceased woman's mother filed a complaint alleging that the husband and his sister were responsible for her daughter's death.
“Based on that complaint, we have registered a case at the Kamakshipalya Police Station and initiated further investigation. We have not yet determined the exact cause of her death,” the DCP said. PTI GMS GMS ROH
