Nationalism is not merely idea but foundation of India's cultural consciousness: Rajasthan BJP

Jaipur, Jul 6 (PTI) Rajasthan BJP's general secretary (organisation) Ajaey Kumar on Monday said that nationalism is not merely an idea but the foundation of India's cultural consciousness and national identity. Addressing a student conference here on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Jana Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Kumar said, "Nationalism is not just an idea, but the basis of India's cultural consciousness and national identity." He said that Mookerjee's life, thoughts and dedication to the nation should be studied seriously. "When youth give top priority to national interest, society and the country become stronger," he said, adding that every BJP worker is committed to taking this ideology to the masses. According to a party statement, BJP state president Madan Rathore said that Mookerjee's life inspires people to place the national interest above all. "He did not pursue politics for power or position, but for the unity, integrity and self-respect of India," Rathore said. He added that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, India is moving forward on the global platform with confidence, reflecting Mookerjee's ideas and resolve. PTI AG SHS
