PTI2 min read
Aizawl, Jul 8 (PTI) Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Wednesday urged trainee police officers to uphold integrity, discipline and professionalism, describing policing as one of the most important forms of public service.
Interacting with eight officer trainees of the 26th batch of the Mizoram Police Service (MPS), he said police personnel are often the first to encounter people in distress and should carry out their duties with compassion and dedication.
"Police officers encounter the hardships and suffering of people more often than their moments of happiness and success. Policing is, therefore, one of the most important forms of public service," he said.
Drawing on his experience as a former IPS officer, Lalduhoma said personal integrity, discipline and good character should remain the foundation of every police officer's career.
He urged the trainees to always place public welfare above all else and maintain professionalism in every aspect of their service.
The CM also encouraged them to supplement their formal training by becoming proficient in Hindi and improving their IT skills, saying both would be essential in their future careers and enhance their ability to serve the public effectively.
Lalduhoma said the trainees' academic qualifications and professional capabilities would make them valuable assets to the state police force. PTI CORR SOM
