Rewa (MP), Jul 6 (PTI) Police on Tuesday seized 3.87 kg of Mephedrone with an estimated value of Rs 10 crore in illicit markets by arresting two suspected smugglers in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh, exposing an inter-state network, an official said. According to the police, the drug chain is linked to Mauganj district, where a manufacturing unit was busted on Monday, leading to the arrest of four individuals. Interestingly, two of the accused in both cases are brothers. "Pursuing 'Operation Prahar-2, police arrested two smugglers in Sonbarsa village under the Gurh police station area, leading to the seizure of 3.87 kg of MD drugs, worth approximately Rs 10 crore," said Superintendent of Police Gurkaran Singh. He told reporters that the seized consignment of drugs was supposed to be transported to Nagpur and Mumbai. On Monday, MD drugs with an estimated value of rupees, equipment used in drug manufacturing, chemicals, and other narcotics were recovered in Bijhauli village of Mauganj district, police said. Police added that the main accused in the Rewa MD case, Mandap Singh, is the brother of the Mauganj drug factory case accused, Chandan Singh.
